How does the design process work?
I work with a lot of small businesses who may not have worked with a graphic designer before and many are unsure how the process works. Generally, I begin by having a conversation with you about your goals. We’ll discuss things like why you are seeking a designer, how you want the work to be perceived, who your target audience is, and general design items such as color preferences and types of stylistic elements you like. Once we have discussed what your needs are, I’ll estimate costs and time required to complete the project. After that has been agreed upon, I’ll create 1-3 designs for you to choose from. The number of design options created will depend on your budget constraints. I’ll send the designs to you to review, then make any adjustments you need from there.
How does the web design process work?
The process will start in the same manner as other design work, discussion of your business, ideas and requirements for the functionality of the web site. I’ll create 1-3 layout styles and send you the mock-ups for review. Once you have selected your layout style, I will begin developing the website. I generally prefer to develop sites with WordPress as it provides an excellent interface for users and offers excellent SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I utilize the Genesis Framework to keep the most current coding and updates for WordPress.
